Let’s be honest…it feels like Texas went straight from “maybe wear a hoodie” to “surface of the sun” in about two weeks.
Summer heat in Texas can be tough on both drivers and vehicles. When temperatures climb, it’s important to recognize the warning signs of heat-related vehicle problems before they become dangerous.
🚗 Signs Your Vehicle May Be Overheating:
Temperature gauge climbing higher than normal
Steam coming from under the hood
Sweet smell from leaking coolant
Weak A/C performance
Warning lights or reduced engine power
⚠️ If your vehicle overheats:
Pull over safely
Turn off the engine
Do NOT remove the radiator cap while hot
🔥 Items You Should Never Leave in a Hot Car:
Children or pets
Aerosol cans
Lighters
Electronics and battery packs
Medications
Disposable plastic water bottles for extended periods
Perishable food
🌡️Interior vehicle temperatures can exceed 140°F in Texas summer heat, even with windows cracked.
💧 Quick Summer Tip:
Keep extra water in the vehicle, but store it in insulated or reusable containers when possible.
Stay cool, stay prepared, and take care of yourself and your vehicle this summer. ❤️

When we hit the trails, it’s not just about adventure; it’s about responsibility. The Tread Lightly! “Leave No Trace” principles remind us to stay on marked trails, pack out what we pack in, and respect wildlife and land.
Here in Texas, that spirit matches perfectly with the “Don’t Mess with Texas” campaign, which started in 1986 to fight littering on Texas roads. Today, it’s become a proud reminder that keeping our state clean is everyone’s job, on highways and on trails.
Every Jeep ride is a chance to protect the land we love. Let’s keep Texas trails open, safe, and beautiful for the next generation. 🌟

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is urging owners of certain vehicles equipped with Takata air bags to STOP DRIVING IMMEDIATELY until repairs are completed.
These airbags can rupture during deployment, sending metal fragments into the vehicle cabin. This defect has caused serious injuries and fatalities nationwide.
What You Should Do:
✔ Check your VIN immediately at NHTSA.gov/recalls
✔ If your vehicle is affected, do NOT drive it
✔ Contact your local dealership to schedule a free repair
🤝 Please take a moment to verify your vehicle and share this information - someone you know may be driving an affected model.

With a major winter storm expected across Texas, preparation can make a real difference — especially if power or water service is interrupted. Here are a few important safety tips to keep in mind:
🔥 Staying Warm Safely
Do NOT run vehicles in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces.
Carbon monoxide can build up quickly and is deadly. If you must sit in a running vehicle for warmth, make sure you are outside, in open air, and that the exhaust pipe is completely clear of snow or ice.
Layer clothing and use blankets before relying on heaters or vehicles.
Never use grills, camp stoves, or generators indoors or in garages — even with doors open.
🚗 Vehicle Readiness
Keep your gas tank at least half full.
Fuel stations may lose power, and you may need your vehicle for warmth or emergency travel.
Switch to winter-rated fluids.
Many standard fluids, such as washer fluid, can freeze in these conditions, make sure your fluids are rated for the proper temperatures.
Carry emergency supplies in your vehicle: blankets, water, snacks, flashlight, phone charger, and gloves.
🚰 Water & Home Preparation
Drip faucets and open cabinet doors to help prevent frozen pipes.
Fill containers with drinking water ahead of time in case of outages.
Know where your main water shutoff is located in case a pipe bursts.
📞 Need Local Help?
Dial 2-1-1 or visit 211Texas.org for up-to-date information on warming stations, shelters, and local emergency resources in your immediate area.
🚙 Transportation Help for Essential Workers
If you are an essential worker or first responder who needs transportation during hazardous conditions, consider checking with local Jeep communities such as Jeep Legacy Club, Grayson County Jeeps, or Outlaw Jeep Recovery.
Many Jeep owners volunteer their time and vehicles during severe weather to help safely get people where they need to be.
❄️Texas winters can be unpredictable, but preparation and community support go a long way. Please check on neighbors, especially seniors and those without reliable heat, and use local resources when needed.
Stay safe, stay warm, and take care of each other. ❤️

Did you know Santa didn’t always arrive in a sleigh?
Beginning in the late 1940s, U.S. military bases and small towns across America used Jeeps as Santa’s ride during holiday parades and gift deliveries. The dependable Willys MB and later CJ models were easy to decorate, could handle snow better than many vehicles of the time, and became a symbol of holiday cheer for military families.
Newspapers from the era documented Santa rolling in with garlands wrapped around the Jeep grille, waving to children from the passenger seat — a tradition that continued well into the 1960s.
It’s a fun reminder of how Jeep history is woven into American culture, even during the holidays. 🎄

Did you know the Ford Mustang has been featured in winter and holiday advertising since the late 1960s? Ford leaned into the idea of a “year-round sports car,” promoting improved cold-weather drivability with innovations like better-balanced weight distribution and more reliable cold-start performance.
Early Mustang owners often upgraded to winter tires and snow chains, and Ford’s brochures even highlighted safe winter driving tips — a rare move for a performance car brand at the time.
Today, Mustangs remain beloved winter cruisers thanks to modern traction control, ABS systems, and winter tire technology. Mustang culture isn’t just for sunny days — it’s a year-round legacy. ❄️❤️🐎

Temperatures are starting to drop, and that means it’s time for a quick vehicle check-up before winter rolls in.
✅ Check your tires. Make sure tread depth is safe and pressure matches your owner’s manual — cold air lowers PSI.
✅ Test your battery. Batteries lose strength in cold weather; replace one that’s more than 3–4 years old.
✅ Top off fluids with winter-safe formulas. Coolant, windshield washer fluid, and oil all have winter blends designed to perform better in cold temps — check the labels before topping off.
✅ Inspect wipers & lights. Visibility matters most in bad weather. Replace worn blades and dim bulbs.
✅ Keep an emergency kit. Include a blanket, flashlight, jumper cables, and basic tools just in case.
A little maintenance now keeps your Jeep, Mustang, or daily driver ready to roll all season long. Stay safe, stay warm, and drive smart. ❤️🚗

The Mustang made its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair — and it was an instant legend. Ford sold more than 22,000 cars on the very first day, and the “pony car” was born.
The Mustang’s affordable price and sporty look made it accessible to everyday Americans, sparking a new wave of automotive culture. Today, the first-generation Mustangs remain some of the most collectible classics on the road.
When we celebrate Mustangs, we’re celebrating not just a car — but a turning point in American automotive history. 🇺🇸
